Traditionally Chardham Yatra starts from west to east in clockwise direction, it means the yatra starts from Yamunotri, followed by Gangotri, Kedarnath and finally Badrinath. Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, these four holy places have their own importance, legends, mythology and history. Most Hindus believe that a person should visit Char Dham at least once in his lifetime to attain salvation.

Among the four haunted sites, Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva while Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. On the other hand, Yamunotri and Gangotri are dedicated to the goddesses Ganga and Yamuna rivers respectively. Best time to visit Char Dham

The best time to visit Char Dham is usually during the summer and early autumn months, when the weather is more favorable for travel and pilgrimage.

Late April to June (Spring): This period marks the beginning of the pilgrimage season. The weather is relatively mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from comfortable to slightly hot. The snow begins to melt, making trekking paths more accessible.

Late September to early November (Autumn): This is the second window for Char Dham Yatra, often called the post-monsoon season. The weather during autumn is cool and pleasant, with clear skies and pleasant temperatures. The landscapes are alive with post-monsoon greenery.

Important Considerations:
Monsoon (July to September): It is generally not recommended to visit Char Dham during the monsoon season due to heavy rainfall, landslides, and challenging trekking conditions. The risk in the area increases during this period.
